Meme’a’Day — the story behind the joke

Why it matters

The broken “GOTCHA!” machine and laughing Trump turn political opposition into a contraption that backfires on its operators. The ten labels summarize the White House’s September 2, 2026 release about congressional Democrats, and retain that attribution on the artwork. The release supplies the administration’s political argument, not ten independently established GIB findings. In the cartoon’s telling, the elaborate effort to frustrate an opponent ends in embarrassment for its authors. “It didn’t work” is the satirical punchline.
